Construction Site Preparedness – Empowering Women
Careers are a marathon, not a sprint. Attendees will learn strategies to implement in their professional careers to allow them to grow and nurture, with a focus specifically on careers in the construction industry and jobsite preparedness. Strategies will cover mentorship, technical training, safety, apparel for women, community engagement, and advocacy for women. A high priority is to invest in yourself! Plant the seeds and let them grow. The first 5 years are a critical time. Pace yourself. The first 20 years are a critical time for creating the space you want to work within. Empower your career with helpful strategies.

Han-Mei Chiang, AIA is an experienced Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working on large, commercial construction projects. Han-Mei is past-President for AIA Portland, currently President-Elect and Chair of the Facilities Committee for Pioneer Courthouse Square (“the Square”), and Secretary for NOMA PDX. Han-Mei is a licensed Architect with a Bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Oregon.
